Raymond taxpayers, together

Fair taxation.
Responsible spending.
A voice for taxpayers.

You worked to build a life here. You should be able to plan a future here, too. Fair assessments and responsible spending matter to every household trying to keep home within reach.

Waterfront or inland. Retired or raising a family. TORMTA helps Raymond taxpayers examine assessments, spending, and how public money is raised and used—then points residents toward the official records, forms, meetings, and municipal processes where they can act for themselves.

Our mission

A lasting voice
for Raymond taxpayers.

The mission of the Town of Raymond Maine Taxpayers Alliance is to provide Raymond taxpayers with independent research, practical resources, and clear information supporting fair taxation, responsible municipal spending, and transparent, accountable town government.

Behind every tax bill is a household budget. We want Raymond to remain affordable for seniors living on fixed incomes, young families building a future, and everyone who calls this community home.

TORMTA is an independent taxpayer education and resource initiative, unaffiliated with town government. No account or registration is required to use the site. Our role is to document issues, explain the numbers, provide useful source material, and encourage residents to participate directly in local government.

Staying home

A higher home value doesn’t create monthly income.

Property tax follows taxable property value, not household income. A long-time owner can have substantial equity on paper while still paying the tax bill from the same retirement check, wages, or savings that cover every other household expense.

Market value and ability to pay are different measurements. The same rise in housing values that can make a long-held property more expensive to keep can also make it harder for a younger household to buy.
