Use the information. Take part locally.
TORMTA is an educational and taxpayer-resource website. There is no account to create and no registration required. The goal is to help Raymond residents understand the issues and participate directly in municipal government.
Anonymous taxpayer survey
Tell us what taxpayers are experiencing—without identifying yourself.
The survey is intended to help TORMTA identify patterns and decide which assessment, tax, affordability, and spending questions deserve more research. It is not a request to be contacted.
Privacy and data handling.
TORMTA does not ask for your name, email address, telephone number, street address, parcel number, or other contact information in this survey. The form is configured so a Google account is not required and email addresses are not collected. Every question is optional.
Survey responses are collected through Google Forms and stored in the linked Google Sheet associated with TORMTA's survey. The responses are retained so TORMTA can review patterns and summarize results. They are not used to build a mailing list or contact respondents.
To reduce the chance that a response could identify a particular household from public tax records, the survey uses broad ranges where practical rather than asking for exact assessment or tax-bill amounts. Free-response questions ask participants not to include names, addresses, or other identifying details.
Survey results may be summarized only in aggregate to identify issues for future research.
What the survey may ask
Broad property type, approximate assessment-change range, how manageable the tax bill feels within the household budget, whether assessment questions were answered, possible record errors, and which issues deserve further research.
What the survey will not ask
No name, email, phone number, street address, parcel number, exact income, or request for someone to contact you.
How the results will be used
Responses can help identify recurring concerns and research priorities. A voluntary survey reflects only the people who choose to respond and will not be presented as a scientific poll of all Raymond residents.
Take the anonymous survey
The survey is anonymous to TORMTA in the sense that TORMTA does not request identifying contact information. Google, as the form provider, may process technical information under its own privacy policies. A voluntary survey reflects only the people who choose to respond and is not a scientific poll of all Raymond residents.
Participate where decisions are made
You do not need an organization between you and your town government.
TORMTA's role is to make useful information easier to find and understand. Residents can then decide for themselves what deserves attention and participate through the ordinary municipal process.
Voting is part of taxpayer participation.
TORMTA does not tell residents how to vote. We do encourage every eligible Raymond voter to understand what is on the ballot and cast an informed vote.
Raymond’s own records show how sharply participation can vary. The June 2021 municipal election drew 412 ballots, or 9.82% of active voters, and the June 2023 municipal election drew 360 ballots, or 8.53%. By comparison, the November 2020 presidential election drew 3,177 ballots, or 74.82%, while the June 2022 state-primary and municipal election drew 683 ballots, or 15.06%.
Participation is not uniformly low; it changes with the election and what is on the ballot. But town budgets, borrowing, capital projects, ordinances, and school spending can affect taxpayers long after Election Day. Local elections are where many of those decisions are made.
